Sheriff ensured the AUL will have a mouthwatering season end as they progressed to the Liddy Cup final on Tuesday night.
Keith Rickard was on the double to ensure the Inner City side defeated Hardwicke and will renew acquaintances with Usher Celtic in another decider.
Celtic only last week ended The Hoops six season reign as AUL Premier A Champions thanks to victory in Clontarf and the new champions also knocked their rivals out of the FAI Junior Cup earlier in the season- although Sheriff did defeat their new rivals in the First Ireland Cup earlier this month.
Sheriff, who are currently searching for a new manager after Alan Reilly stepped down, now have the chance to gain some form of revenge and add to their impressive trophy haul as the go at it again with Usher in the Liddy Cup decider.
Paul Murphy opened the scoring in the semi, but Hardwicke went in level at the break as young goal getter Troy Owens leveled proceedings.
Back to back Rickard goals then saw Sheriff go in front and open up a two goal cushion.
Ryan King gave Hardwicke some hope when he put just one between the teams with a neat finish, but Bisto Flood quashed the comeback, found the net and made sure it’s Sheriff who progress to the decider.
