It was a no brainer for Alan Reilly.
Having watched Kieth Rickard hit four goals in two games in the Tommy Clements Sheriff were always going to turn their interested in the striker into an offer to play Clontarf for the season
In fairness such is Rickard’s quality that a host of clubs would have name dropped him when talking about potential striking recruits and once he proved he was over a serious injury the FAI Junior Cup champions pounced.
Rickard has proved a star of East Wall Bessborough over the years. He hit 25 goals for them two seasons ago but a bad injury meant he missed all of last term.
With Eastwall electing against fielding a first team this season and subsequently pulling out of Premier A Rickard was always going to be looking for another club.
He had a few options, but having impressed in two pre season Sheriff games he signed for the club on Saturday.
A front paring of Rickard and John Rock certainly looks exciting and when the front man reaches full fitness there is no doubt he will score goals in such a quality team.
