Tommy Clements Cup
Keith Rickard grabbed the headlines again as Sheriff progressed to the final of the Tommy Clements Cup.
The striker bagged a hat trick in the quarter final and hit a screamer to seal the deal against Premier A rivals Usher in the AUL Complex just two days later.
The former East Wall Bessborough striker has yet to officially sign for a club, but impressed in his Sheriff debut despite returning from a long term injury and followed it up with another impressive performance to help send the Tom Hand champions into the pre season decider.
A player who has been impressing for Sheriff for a lot longer than Rickard, Sean Murphy opened the scoring with a head soon after the break.
Rickard doubled it 15 minutes from time with an early goal of the season contender firing home from range after John Rock cushioned into his path.
Sheriff will now play Home Farm of the LSL in the final, but the final which was scheduled for Sunday will have to be moved as Sheriff play Bluebell United in the FAI Senior Cup over the weekend.
Another plus for Sheriff fans was to see both John Rock and Mark Higgins back on the pitch after an extended summer break.
