Pike Rovers have made the first steps along a road they hope will help them return to the top of the Limerick pile next season.
Beaten finalists in the FAI Junior Cup, Pike were also runners up in the league finishing second to invincible Janesboro last season, something the hope to amend next term.
To help them achieve that they have added to their squad bringing in two players this week- and Darragh Rainsford is a signing that will certainly catch the eye.
Rainsford returned to amateur football last season and managed to score 11 goals from midfield for Carew Park. The former Fairview Rangers player also has League of Ireland experience having progressed from Limerick’s under 19s to their first team.
Rainsford will now wear the green and white hoops of Pike next term and is joined in the door by a 2011 FAI Junior Cup winner.
Conor Kavanagh has return home from Australia, where he played semi pro football, and after a spell at Fairview has returned to the club where he won the biggest cup competition in European football.
