FAI Junior Cup
The kids are proving alright for Castlewarren Celtic.
The KDL first division side registered the biggest win of their history over the weekend as they progressed to the next round of the FAI Junior Cup.
The win over Laois Premier Division side Arlington at Scanlon Park in Kilkenny came courtesy of some fine performances from their youth graduates.
All four scorers for the side that were just established five years ago came from players introduced to the senior set up from the youth ranks over the summer.
An early strike from Jack Cullen, which was assisted by Sean Grace settled the Kilkenny side early on.
Grace then got himself on the score sheet to double the advantage before another teen Eddie O’Neill made it three.
Sean Grace then ensured Celtic had two feet in the next round with his second.
Arlington did attempt a response and managed two late goals, but a turn around never looked on the cards.
