Missing in Action
In response to the mail asking about Luke Synott, he is now with Knocklyon United and I agree a smashing player. (Anom)
Nice to see ‘Scotty too Hotty’ getting involved:
I seen Eddie’s (or Scotty too Hotty as we were calling him on the sideline last weekend) mail last week. I just want to say he got it all wrong. He needs to get his facts straight. Derek McKenna is that good he does a 48 hour shift in a day and is at 10 games at the same time. Superman wears Derek McKenna Pajamas. (Mick, Dublin)
Rich pickings for The Orchard?
‘A fan’ who mailed the mailbox last week asking if Cherry Orchard can win the Intermediate Cup must have been delighted with today’s draw. Bluebell and Crumlin drawing each other!!
It opens the door to for a smaller club (I don’t know if that’s the right phrase, but you know what I mean) to make it to the Aviva at least. I am not sure how the bookies have it, but as an Senior 1 side I am sure the Orchard are at long odds. But in truth they should be in the top flight this year and they really do have a good bright young team. There is a bit of the unknown about them too as they don’t play the other Senior Sunday sides on a regular basis. So ‘A Fan’ they could do it. (Another Fan).
Travel sickness for nearly sickened Sheriff
From what I seen in here Ferns shouldn’t have even bothered to turn up against Sheriff the weekend. A 10-0 hammering was on the cards according to all you Dubs.
Well you were not thinking that at half time on Sunday! Sheriff were rattled and their supporters were terrified.
Granted they did well to come back, but they are not the all might power everyone says. Take them out of Dublin and they are just above average. (Mark, Wexford)
Sheriff are only the boss in their own town
Sheriff supporters better pray for a home draw in next weekends FAI Intermediate Cup draw.
There is no doubt they are an awesome side, but when they have to leave Dublin they lose a bit of that aura. I am just wondering if anyone knows how many times they played away over the last few years in the FAI Junior Cup? (Anom)
Just seen there is no Avondale United, UCC, Rockmount or even Cobh Ramblers in the last eight or ten of the FAI Intermediate.
Have Carrigaline AFC and Ringmahon take over in Cork? Are they as good as Avondale where or did they get handy draws? (Joe, Dublin)
More Regions Cup
Let’s get this straight it doesn’t matter what way you cut up Ireland to select a Regions Cup squad there will be people moaning.
Last weeks mailer is by name a ‘Regions Cup Winner’ so I do have to take his opinion on board and it does seem strange to change a winning formula.
However, I am sure the FAI have their reasons? It’s like the debate around team selection the manager doesn’t pick a team to lose although people scream bias all the time. I am sure the FAI haven’t devises a new selection structure to fail. They must see sense in it? (Anon)
Old rivalries and then some
Bluebell United versus Crumlin..Please lord pick Buzzer.. Buzzer versus James Lee.. I can’t wait. (Buzzing fan)
Not all about Firhouse
I see a lot of Firhouse Clover love on the JSP over the last few weeks, but I think everyone should keep an eye out for Malahide. They defo deserve praise seen as they are top. (Anon)
Martin Cramer or Darren Dunne
Just a bit of fun. The two best central midfielders in the LSL and AUL over recent times. Which would you have in your team? For me it’s Wacker all day. (James, Dublin)
Too many cooks spoil the broth
I am just wondering if anyone else thinks Bluebell signed too many over the last few transfer windows. How do they plan to keep Barry Slattery, Ger Rowe, Adji Sule, Sean Byrne, Sean Gleeson, Tony Griffiths, Brian Cash, Jordan Keegan all happy? I worry the might suffer in the same fate as Tolka of last season too many players not enough places available. (Anon)
