AUL Premier A
Donnycarney became the first team to take points of Sheriff YC this season thanks to a second half strike on Tuesday night.
The title favourites looked on course to make it three wins from three Premier A games, but the side promoted from Premier C over the Summer managed to level things up before full time.
Even more impressively Donnycarney managed to secure the result at fortress Chanel and took points of the Champions away from home.
The visitors felt a little aggrieved to have drawn their last two league ties, but will be delighted to make it three and a point away to the FAI Junior Cup champions will boost confidence and the last gasp manner in which it came will certainly boost morale.
Sheriff, who haven’t tasted league defeat since the 2014/15 season, went ahead through none other than Jon Rock.
The striker, who hit 27 goals last season, kept us his run of scoring form to break the deadlock just a minute into the first half.
The hosts dominated the rest of the stanza and would have felt they should have took a wider margin into the break.
However, Donnycarney came out fired up after the turn. A much improved performance looked like it would reap nothing until the dying embers of the tie.
A sensational Sean Malone finish late on to secure his side a share of the spoils.
