Leixlip United have today appointed Ed Saul as their first team coach.
The Kildare side were looking for a new manager since Brendan Lennon stepped down from the post at the end of last season.
Lennon lead the side back to the Intermediate top flight just over 12 months ago, but couldn’t keep them up in what was a competitive Senior Sunday division last term-United went down after finishing twelfth and 11 points off Cherry Orchard and safety.
Saul has now stepped into the Lennon sized hole left at the club and will lead the first team moving forward.
A club with 35 teams across all levels and age groups has a real foothold in the area will provide Saul with a great opportunity to make his mark as a first team manager.
The respected coach has plenty of Senior Sunday experience having worked as an assistant at his local side St Patricks CY as well as being number 2 when Firhouse Clover reached the FAI Intermediate Cup last season.
Saul now gets his chance to prove himself as a number 1 and will be hoping to lead a promotion charge in what is shaping up to be a competitive LSL Senior 1 division next term.
The club are pleased to announce Ed Saul as our new Senior manager.
Ed comes with a wealth of experince in the LSL as a player,a coach and a manager and most recently Firhouse Clover where he was the assistant manager for two years.
