FAI Junior Cup
A Wayne Sparling double helped Celtic win an FAI Junior Cup battle of Killarney on Sunday.
The young talent’s brace proved the difference between the local rivals and ensured the Celtic half of Killarney had something to celebrate over the weekend.
Having gone into the break a goal down to Athletic, Celtic produced the goods in the second half to move into Round 3 of the FAI Junior Cup at their neighbours expense.
Killarney Athletic opened the scoring in the derby clash as Anthony Cournane found the net on the stroke of half time.
However, the Celtic Park side leveled via Sparling on 63 minutes.
Danny Roche then fired home a penalty to give the home side a single goal advantage.
Sparling was on hand to make sure for Celtic as he scored his second to give his side some breathing space going into the final few minutes.
